Sizzling 

I hear the meat cooking

and the beans sizzling

from my dad’s nachos

Delicious and Creamy

When I eat pizza, it tastes 

delicious and kind of salty 

like the ocean water. 

The cheese is fresh as a flower 

and it’s so hot like lava.

When I put it in my mouth, I feel good.

The sun is like lava and the sky,

the sky is so beautiful 

it is like ocean water. 

Cake tastes creamy and cold, 

and it’s delightful 

and very pretty.

Seashells

Baleadas are delicious 

because they have beans and cheese.

I hear sizzling when I drink 

Coca Cola with the baleadas. 

I see hot baleadas.

The color blue is like the ocean.

And the ocean whispers in salt.

The Golden Gate Bridge is tall and red. 

Cars pass by loudly.

And it’s cold there, so I wear a coat.

Chips and In-N-Out

I can smell In-N-Out burger a mile away. 

Sometimes hot cheetos taste spicy, 

but sometimes it’s not spicy.

Whenever I eat chips, I hear crunch, crunch.

Whenever I see In-N-Out, I get excited.

It feels hard whenever I touch the chips, 

but sometimes it is squishy or soft.

Apples taste excellent because they are juicy, and hard or soft.

Sometimes apples look like they are solid.

Brown looks like soft bread 

like brownies. Bread feels soft, 

but also camels are brown.

Red looks like blood 

or a heart that is still alive.

Also brown looks like hair 

and sometimes hair looks like 

shiny black, but it is brown.
